Tomb Raider I-III Remastered Lore: Mask of Tornarsuk

The Mask of Tornarsuk is an ancient Inuit artifact made of pure gold, believed to hold the power of re-animating the spirits of the dead and serving as the key to releasing a mythical creature called Guardian of the Kingdom from its prison. The mask rests in the Furnace of the Gods and is guarded by the spirits of three Inuit warriors.
After finding an old newspaper dating back to 1945 with a photo of an Inuit hunter holding an ancient mask, Lara sets off to Melnikov Island in the Bering Sea, believing that the mask she saw in the photo is the Mask of Tornarsuk.
However, Lara is not alone in her quest to find the mask; an organization called A.V.A.L.A.N.C.H.E. is also in pursuit of the same artifact and will try to stop Lara from obtaining it.
